Bernina Red Train

The  Red Train, nicknamed for the flaming color of its carriages, is a jewel that belongs to the Rhaetian Railway, and since 2008 it has been a  UNESCO World Heritage Site..

Along a breathtaking  route , the  highest train in Europe, also known as the Bernina Express, climbs the Alps  without the use of a rack railway.

🕢 The departure will be from Milan (at the Lambrate train station) at 07:30. We will go by bus to Valtellina (in Tirano), where we will go to the Rhaetian railway station (which is a small Swiss exclave in Italy).

🚂 At the Tirano station we will take the characteristic red train, with reserved seats 😎

🗻 After the train ride we will arrive in Saint Moritz (in the upper Engadine), one of the most famous winter resorts in the world. There will be enough time to visit the town and the lake.

🫕 Around 15:30 we will take the bus from there that will take us to Chiavenna, a characteristic village in the valley of the same name: we will have time to visit it and for dinner time we will all go together to a typical crotto to eat pizzoccheri, polenta, sciatt and drink wine!

🌆 After dinner the bus will take us back to Milan, arriving late in the evening (around 11:00 pm)

Il giorno 16 dicembre ci sarà anche la possibilità di cenare insieme in un crotto, una cantina naturale tipica della Valchiavenna dove vengono proposti i piatti della tradizione.

Durante la cena potremo mangiare: pizzoccheri, gnocchetti di Chiavenna, polenta taragna, piota mista e biscotti di prosto. Per chi segue una dieta vegetariana, come secondo saranno proposti funghi e polenta. Per celiaci ed intolleranti al lattosio invece sarà proposto un piatto unico con bresaola e funghi.

La cena sarà a carico dei partecipanti e non è inclusa nel costo dell’attività.

Il costo è di 25€ che comprende tutta l’attività: il trasporto A/R, il viaggio sul trenino e l’assicurazione. C’è però da pagare una cauzione di 30€ all’iscrizione, che sarà restituita interamente dopo il viaggio.

Perché chiediamo una cauzione di 30,00€? Il prezzo è di 25€, perché parte dei costi vengono coperti dal Politecnico di Milano, che però mette i soldi solo al termine dell’attività. Questo ci costringe a chiedere una cauzione che ci permette di non dover anticipare di tasca nostra tutti questi costi (che sono alti e siamo studentɜ pure noi 😅). Quindi al termine del viaggio, quando il Poli rimborserà i costi, restituiremo la cauzione a ciascun partecipante.

In ogni caso riceverai tutte le informazioni non appena la tua iscrizione sarà andata a buon fine!
