ABOUT US
Studenti Indipendenti was founded as a student representation group at the Politecnico in 2019, with the aim of promoting an alternative idea of university that fully safeguards the rights of us students and remains independent from political parties and lobbies.
In the most recent elections we managed to obtain a seat in the Academic Senate and we are present in all 4 schools, with 5 members in the Student Council, through which we have introduced and continue to introduce proposals and initiatives to improve student conditions, such as the installation of free menstrual product dispensers, the implementation of a double transcript system for trans students, and the increase in the number of exam sessions per year.
OUR ideas
Everything we do as an association and student group is 100% self-funded; we do not accept funding from political parties, unions, religious lobbies, or external organizations. For us, independence means working exclusively in the interests of students, both through representation in institutional bodies and through constant dialogue with the student community.
All our proposals come directly from students and from our assembly, which is open to everyone free of charge and where each voice counts equally. Every decision we make is always shared within the assembly and addressed collectively.
For us, university life should be experienced beyond lectures and exercises, as we believe it is, above all, a space for social interaction and inclusivity, where everyone can express themselves in a safe, inclusive, and free environment.
To share this idea of social connection and student community beyond traditional education, we organize a variety of cultural activities, trips, and parties.

Studenti Indipendenti is an organization present throughout Italy, operating at a national level through LINK – University Coordination and the Knowledge Network, and at a regional and local level as the Knowledge Network Milan.
Studenti Indipendenti is also active at Statale and Bicocca! Follow them on social media to stay updated on the initiatives they promote.

LINK in particolare opera anche all’interno del massimo organo di rappresentanza studentesca in Italia, ovvero il CNSU (Consiglio Nazionale degli Studenti Universitari), dove esprimiamo 1 membro su 28 e tramite il quale contribuiamo (con proposte, iniziative, mozioni) a migliorare la condizione studentesca generale nel nostro paese.
Ad esempio pochi mesi fa abbiamo approvato la mozione con la quale chiedevamo che al medico di base fosse affiancato anche un medico di riferimento per gli studenti fuorisede, in modo da non dover fare il cambio e poter vivere serenamente la propria permanenza presso la città dove si studia.
Sempre grazie a LINK possiamo anche far votare centinaia di fuorisede nella città dove studiano, potendo così risparmiare il viaggio al proprio luogo di residenza.

Rete della Conoscenza invece è una realtà più ampia, che unisce non solo universitari ma anche studenti delle accademie e AFAM e gli studenti delle scuole superiori, grazie all’Unione degli Studenti (UdS).
A Milano ad esempio (tramite Rete della Conoscenza) siamo attivi in varie realtà come Fridays For Future e NonUnaDiMeno, partecipando alle loro assemblee portando la voce degli studenti e scendendo in piazza alle varie manifestazioni.
Portiamo avanti iniziative ed eventi legati ai temi dell’ambientalismo antirazzismo, antimafia, antifascismo, femminismo, tematiche LGBTQIA+ e molto altro.
A Milano invece siamo presenti all’interno delle tre università pubbliche (Statale, Bicocca e Poli), agendo sempre tramite la rappresentanza e il confronto con la comunità studentesca. Unendo le nostre forze e le nostre esperienze ogni anno dialoghiamo con Regione Lombardia chiedendo di aumentare i fondi per il diritto allo studio, il miglioramento del trasporto regionale e locale e altre misure a favore degli studenti.
